While completing her Masters, she ran the operations of Day By Day Entertainment, a national independent distribution company based in New York City and was responsible for over 15 releases. After a brief internship at Universal Motown, she went on to work in the A&R Department under Executive VP of A&R Bruce Carbone as well as Sr. VP of A&R Eric Nicks. During this time, she began managing the careers of hip hop artists Poison Pen, Eternia and Brooklyn Academy. She went on to consult for other and artists the likes of Viper Records, Hasan Salaam and The Kin.
In 2007, Azar began coordinating an exclusive music industry showcase series R&B Live New York, now known as Spotlight Live. The following year, Azar moved on from Universal Motown and helped build Alpine Music Group, the management & publishing company that housed hit songwriters and producers (responsible for songs by Justin Bieber, One Direction, Musiq Soulchild and many more).
